Skin Cancer Prevention
Even though skin cancer is highly preventable, the number of new cases every year continues to increase.
• Avoid direct sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when its rays are strongest
• Avoid tanning beds
• Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher when exposed to direct sun and reapply often, even on cloudy or
hazy days
• Wear protective clothing such as a broad-rimmed hat, sunglasses and woven clothing when in the sun
